E-Invoicing in Europe: Benefits & Challenges
E-Invoicing in Europe: Benefits & Challenges

This webinar took place on Thursday, March 21st at 12:00 London GMT and focused exclusively on the efforts being made in Europe to standardize e-invoicing procedures.

In 2014, via Directive 2014/55/EU, the European Union introduced a region-wide standard for e-invoicing as a way of streamlining these procedures and bringing together the many different formats used.

According to the EU, this diversity leads to “unnecessary complexity and high costs for businesses and public entities,” and the European Commission opted to set a series of norms to facilitate cross-border e-invoicing.

In this live event, our panel shed some light on this move to standardize e-invoicing in the region and provided us with some updates on what different jurisdictions are doing to fall in line with these norms.

E-Invoicing in Europe: Benefits & Challenges

Some of the questions covered included:

  • What are some of the main benefits of e-invoicing in general?
  • Likewise, what are some of the main benefits of standardizing e-invoicing across the EU?
  • What are some of the main challenges to be faced as a result of this standardization?
  • At what stage in this process is your jurisdiction at? Have there been any specific challenges unique to your country?
  • Plenty of concerns have arisen with regards to data protection and cyber security vis-à-vis e-invoicing. What are your thoughts on this specific issue?
  • And plenty more!
