Dr. Nick Skrekas is an international financial expert, an expert in Maritime Finance and Law, a legal specialist on international law as well as acclaimed consultant. Dr. Skrekas has worked in top law firms as an expert on EU international programs and as a financial analyst in bulge bracket investment firms. He also has a background in cutting edge financial media like The Wall Street Journal and has authored two books for Thomson Reuters. He has deep experience in financial analysis, international mergers and acquisitions, cross border securitization, due diligence, project finance, international banking and securities law, IPOs, distressed deals, private equity and corporate finance. 
 
Dr. Skrekas has a Bachelor of Laws with Honors, a Bachelor of Economics, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investments, a Masters of Laws, an MBA and Doctorate of Philosophy in Law from top Australian institutions, always graduating with exceptional grades like High Distinctions. His qualifications are recognized in Australia, the UK, the US and the European Union.  Dr. Skrekas is also a member of the International Bar Association and he is a certified analyst.

Tomaso primarily develops the organisation's international advocacy with the UN, the EU and other relevant intergovernmental bodies. Previously, he worked for Child Soldiers International and for Amnesty International’s (AI) International Secretariat in the International Law and Policy Program where he was legal and policy advisor. His main responsibilities included providing advice on international human rights and humanitarian law, drafting intervention before human rights courts and bodies and representing the organization in meetings of UN human rights law experts.
 
Tomaso is an Italian lawyer and has a Law Degree from the Law College in Ferrara (Italy.)

Sam Pfeifle

Sam Pfeifle,

As content director, Sam oversees everything content-related coming out of the IAPP, from the Daily Dashboard to the monthly Privacy Advisor to the IAPP's various blogs, books and Resource Center items, to training and KnowledgeNet content and information.

Pfeifle came to the IAPP after stints overseeing a number of B2B publications, including titles in the physical security, workboat and 3D data capture industries. He began his journalism career with the alternative newsweekly The Portland Phoenix, and wrote a local music column for the paper for 15 years. Pfeifle has a BS in education and a BA in English from the University of Vermont, and spent two years as a high school English teacher in New Hampshire.
