The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has announced it will begin rolling out a new policy which will see Ghanaian tax evaders denied access to passports, driver’s license and visas. The policy is expected to commence from the 1st of January 2017. The GRA’s roll out of the new policy follows the implementation of the revised tax law – 2015 tax Act. To be exempted from the new policy the GRA says all Ghanaians who are taxable must get a tax payer identification number or they will be unable to renew passports, drivers licenses or even attain a visa. The main provisions of the Ghanaian legislation governing taxation in farming business are embodied in the Tax Code of Ghana, which regulates the special tax regime in the farming business. Ghana’s tax law provides certain tax benefits for farming businesses. Ghana's farming business which has been the main economic driven force of economic development of the country. The country produces a variety of crops for both local and international market for local currency and foreign exchange rate in its raw state. Farming business defines as the business of producing crops, fish, or livestock; under Cash crops includes cassava, maize, pineapple, rice, and yam.
